My entire life, if you would have asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and if I was being honest, I would have answered, “create comic books”. It’s a medium like no other, where the only limitations are your imagination. Ever since I could put pen to paper, I’ve always wanted to be a writer, of everything really… and over the years I’ve been lucky enough to write professionally in so many mediums, but comic books was always that mistress calling to me; my first love, ever present, reminding me of our torrid love affair we formed when I was just eight years old. And then comes KILL STAN, a book that has been several years in the making, and a story I have a deep passion for.

Although, Kill Stan is not the first comic book I’ve ever written. In fact, it’s probably somewhere around the two thousandth comic book I’ve written – I’m not even joking. Like most kids I started by writing comics about my favorite characters (For me, it was the X-Men), then cheap knockoffs of my favorite characters… And then one day you grow up, experience the world, realize it’s fucked, maybe develop an alcohol problem, and the true tortured artist starts to pour out of you, and you get a story about a suicidal loser who can’t even catch a break and die.

Kill Stan a culmination of all that, all my experiences, all my eras of love and disdain for comics, for art, for life, and so much more – that conflict that boils inside all of us. Kill Stan means a lot to me, it took an immense amount of effort to get it out there, and since its inception there was an ember burning inside of me that I had to fan. It's been three years in the making with ups and downs along the way. There was a point a few years ago where I even had a publisher wanting to do this project, but they said I’d get sued over the name… Who knows? I still might. With that in mind, make sure you keep buying the book so I can afford a good lawyer when that does happen. So, what happened to all those other one hundred ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine plus comics I’ve written? Well, they’re around. Buried in spiral bound notebooks from 30 years ago, saved on floppy discs I couldn’t even access unless I traveled back to 2001, and some are books you’ll see released soon after this series ends.

I hope you read Kill Stan and like it enough to buy the next one, and the next one, and then the next series, and that you truly connect with these characters and stories. This is all I’ve ever wanted to do, and now I can say I did it.

Thanks for being here!
